About Marriage Matters

Posted by the Central Committee & filed under Communications.

Dear brothers and sisters, we are forwarding for your information this response from Mumbai LET to the CC as announced in our previous message. It does look like the plea of the world sangha has brought a response going beyond what was said today on a facebook message.

As far as the CC is concerned we do not consider ourselves to be “in charge” of this issue and we need now to discuss the proposal mentioned at the navratri puja meeting about a commission to review the global system and bring consensus recommendations.

In the meantime immediate progress depends also on moving towards better integration within and with India and obtaining cooperation with the International Marriage Committee. Mumbai LET is showing willingness and hopefully the IMC and the National Trust can come to an arrangement prior to the International 2012 Birthday puja expected to take place in Chindwara. Should you have views on this matter please send them to Marco Arciglio who is helping as the secretary of the IMC.

We are grateful for your benevolent attention and bandhans and we are sure it did help.

Dear Marco,
I have not seen any official or unofficial announcement of Chhindwara programme in March 2012 by The National Trust of India. Who has communicated this and what is the source ? No one is aware in India till date about this. Can you obtain this information and let us know..
Thank you for your following communication. With Love
Vijay Nalgirkar

Dear all
the messages below, seems to move towards integration between IMC and local committees.
As you can see, the proposed way forward is to start building the basis for a cooperation that will become effective from Birthday puja 2012 in Chindwara.
ABOUT MARRIAGE MATTERS
Please do let me have your feedback for the CC and let’s start putting our subtle attention on this matter. Jai Shri Mataji Marco

Jai Shri Mataji
The LET Mumbai has taken note of your letter concerns at this stage.
and we accept that you cannot respond to our
Please on your side we would like you to note that the launching of the website has been exclusively in response to local demands of responsible young people in India and also in the context of events taking place that has damaged the trust in ” Committee ” institutions .
We have also realised that we need to take into account the international dimension .
As a result of your response, we have been consulting among ourselves and also with the young Sahaja Yogis whose needs we must meet.
We therefore propose to adjust the website in the following manner : The rules of access to
the site will be modified in such a manner that the site does not invite the young people to choose one another directly . Instead of this, we will form a panel of Counsellors who will have access to the site to assist in the matching process according to the rules laid down by Shri Mataji
We understand from people who have been directly involved in the selection process with Her, that Her main concern was that people from the same centre should not marry. All matches had to be made in an honest and transparent manner so that no one could pressurise the marriage Committee to use their discretion to either favour or bar any candidate. The boys have to be able to earn enough to support their life partner and the maryadas for the girls were also laid down.
It is with this desire that we have given excerpts of some of Her speeches on the site.

With respect to foreigners who desire to marry on this site, the Panel of Counselllors will be happy to cooperate with the International system.
At first we had thought that the money coming in would be used to help deserving Sahaj Yogi students through scholarships, but now, we have decided to make the site totally free so that there can be no commercial aspect attributed to this site .
This website is in its nascent stages and it can be improved and we would welcome suggestions to this effect. We shall also wait for improvements that shall take place in the International system.
The website should evolve into a database that would ideally become useful, to any institution who wants to organise Sahaja marriages and we would definitely want to cooperate with the members of the International group of the Central Committee should they so wish and provided that it does inspire trust. These technical adjustments will be visible very soon on the site.
We would like to inform you that we have got a reasonably good response from several cities in India. We are sure the Central Committee will understand the aspirations of the young people & deal with the matter accordingly.
Thanking you,

Subject: Message of the Central Committee

Dear members of the Life Eternal Trust, Mumbai,
We have received the message of Parag Raje dated 8 October concerning the launching of a matrimonial website. We have read it attentively. We are aware of reactions from brothers and sisters across the world to this launch. These adverse reactions correspond to our own concerns. While we do not want to question the intentions of the sponsors of this site, nor their commitment and devotion to Shri Mataji, we cannot approve this launching and would invite you to withdraw the site in its present form.

After our Mother’s departure there is a global concern about where Sahaja Yoga may be headed. Sahaja Yogis the world over have contacted us expressing their dismay at the launching of this website. They rightly state that it is a departure from the precepts and foundations laid down by our Mother.
We would request that you consider this global appeal and please not proceed with this initiative.
We are aware that since Christmas 2008 there have been no marriages in India and that there is a profound importance to address the marriage needs of hundreds of young indian sahaja yogis. We also know of the reports that the institution of marriage in Sahaja Yoga has been recently beset by errors and, at times, manipulative behaviour. The Youth of Sahaja Yoga in particular is sensitive to this; in India and everywhere else on the Sahaj globe.

It is therefore a recognized matter of great urgency, re‐establishing transparency and credibility in our Sahaja marriage culture, rather than introducing methods that would dilute it. The marriage of our youth, auspiciously matched and conducted, and blessed by Shri Mataji and all Sahaja Yogis, is our all prior concern and a major aspect of our Guru’s legacy, which calls for our protection and preservation.
This will need our joint collective collaboration and the successful integration of all marriage activities under one globally accepted and supported standard, supervised and/or accredited by an international marriage committee.

The matter is already on the web’s public domain and we shall communicate this message and your response to country coordinators. Thank you for responding to this appeal and for your help in building harmony and consensus in the preservation of our Mother’s precious heritage

With respectful regards,
The members of the Central Committee
